What is PIERS?

PIERS (Plan Index, Enquiry and Retrieval System) provides access to images of survey plans through the PropertyAssist and PIERS Online web sites.

  • PropertyAssist users can select the 'Survey Plan Image' option from a property search to download a deposited survey plan image from PIERS.
  • PIERS Online provides access to view, print or request email delivery of survey plan images. The entire range of plans stored by Land Services Group is available, including plans not accessable by a property search such as GRO Plans, Diagram Book Pages and survey plans prior to their deposit in the Lands Titles Office.

How do I access PIERS Online?

PIERS Online is available from the Land Services Web site under Online Services. Land administration industry professionals who have an account with Land Services Group can use their PropertyAssist usercode to log in. A 'guest' usercode, where purchases can be made by credit card, is available for public use.

Logon and technical information is located at our Online Purchases Help page.

When is PIERS Online available?

Access using a PropertyAssist usercode is available between 8am and 6pm each business day and for most of each weekend and public holidays subject to system and data update requirements. Access using the 'guest' usercode is available 7 days a week, 23 hours a day.

What is available in PIERS Online?

Images of survey plans in the TIFF format can be requested directly using the Plans Order search where the plan reference is known, or located using the other search options. More information on the search options and plan types is available within the web site. A 'pixel reduced' view of the image is provided free of cost with sufficient resolution to preview before purchasing.

A free image viewer can be installed to look at the images within the web browser or the images can be emailed to any email address. The image viewer has options to enlarge, print and save images.

How can I check my purchases?

A 'View detailed usage records' link is available to Account customers to track their purchases. The link is located at the bottom left-hand corner of the initial PIERS Online window.

Who supports PIERS?
