Role of the Land Services Group
|
The Land Services Group
is responsible for key land administration functions in South Australia.
The core activities are:
- land titling
- land and property valuation
- administration of a survey framework
- management and provision of land information
The Land Services Group includes the statutory offices of the
Registrar-General, Surveyor-General, Valuer-General and the Land
Information Services
Branch. Land Services Group is part of the Department for Transport,
Energy and Infrastructure. |

The Land Services Group ensures:
- that titles are the conclusive evidence of land ownership
- that all dealings with land are registered
- that there is an associated register of plans defining the legal boundaries
of all freehold land
- that the integrity of the State's survey infrastructure and surveying
standards meet community needs
- that there is a fair and equitable land valuation and property information
service for rating and taxing purposes
- that land information is easily available to Government, private sector
and the public
Land Services Group Mission
Land Services Group has a lead role for land administration within Government
through the provision of:
- a survey infrastructure
- a guaranteed system of land titling
- an impartial property valuation service
- land and property information
