Pursuant to the Real Property Act 1886, the Registrar General maintains
a register book of records in relation to land under the Torrens
System. The Register Book is a public record that includes Certificates
of Title and all instruments registered under the Real Property
Act.
Most of the register book
has been computerised with 95% of the title register converted to
electronic format.
The automation of property and valuation information makes South
Australia's Torrens Title land information more accessible to you.
Access to most records is available from the PropertyAssist
web site and includes:
- Ownership details
- Data regarding any constraints such as easements, heritage items,
etc
- Sales details
- Site and Capital values
- Property Details
- Copies of survey plans and Certificates of Title (Title Register
Search)
To search this information
all you need is the title reference number or the address details.
The information available in a Title Register Search comprises
the current interests in land. Not all historical information is
available by a computerised search. To access historical information
you will need to visit the Customer Service Centre, Ground Floor,
101 Grenfell Street, Adelaide and access the manual register. For
more information visit the Searching
Family History section on this site.
You can also conduct a Title Register
Search with the assistance of a customer service officer at the
Land Services Group.
