SURVEYOR-GENERAL'S DIRECTION NUMBER 3 ISSUED PURSUANT TO REGULATION 27 OF THE SURVEY ACT 1992 CERTIFICATION OF PLANS 1. Application of this Direction Pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Survey Act 1992, this Direction details the requirements of the Surveyor- General in relation to the certification of a plan of cadastral survey by a licensed surveyor. It should be noted that while plans under the Community Titles Act 1996 are not required to carry the certification in clause 2 below, they are a cadastral survey. As such they must fulfil the requirements of Survey Instructions under the Survey Act 1992. 2. Certification The surveyor responsible for any cadastral survey, other than those carried out under the Strata Titles Act 1988 or Community Titles Act 1996, to be accepted for filing or deposit in the Land Titles Registration Office shall sign the following certificate on every plan of survey:
The exception provided in clause (2) of the certification is restricted to surveys affected by the requirements of regulation 23 of the Survey Regulations 2007. 3. Recertification After Two Years Any cadastral survey lodged in the Land Titles Registration Office after a period of more than two years from the completion of the field work shall be certified by a surveyor to the effect that the marking, occupation and other improvements remain the same or have been amended as shown. |
